Making a micro-budget indie feature film is definitely a team sport (frankly, what isn’t?) and we are excited to say that our team is in full motion! Thanks to all kind of supporters who have helped from the first idea over a year ago to this morning’s coffee for the road, we are three days from filming! There’s a lot to do before our first shot - but we’re confident it’s possible!
We’re proud to tell the stories of young women navigating the obvious and not so obvious challenges of choosing their life trajectories. Since the script was written, this has become even more important.
We’re also glad that a film about women is being led by women. Women, and women of color, are leading and supporting the majority of our departments. Far too often this is not the case. Additionally, we’ve connected with a wonderful organization - New Mexico Girls Make Movies - to provide internships for high school graduates Mentoring the next generation of professional women is key for all of us.
So - now that we’ve got a script and a cast and a crew - and a reason to tell this story - we’re going to get on with it! Stay tuned for stories of the road. Both the ones taken and the ones not.
